National team coach Carlo Ancelotti had a firm discussion with Neymar before the announcement of the final squad for the World Cup in North America. According to Globo Esporte, Neymar was forced to accept three conditions to be called up. The first condition was that he would not receive the captain's armband, and the second was that he would not be a starter in the group stage matches. The last condition was for Neymar to reduce his activity on social media, including during the tournament. Neymar confirmed that he agrees to these conditions and that he will do everything possible to help the national team. It is important to mention that Neymar has not been called up to the national team for two and a half years, his last appearance being in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, in October 2023, when he played a half in the match against Uruguay. Currently, he plays for Santos, his beloved team.
