Following the Romanian Government's decision to declare August 7, 2025 a day of national mourning in memory of Ion Iliescu, the Romanian Football Federation will organize a moment of silence before the second round matches of the Romanian Cup, scheduled on August 6 and 7. Ion Iliescu, Romania's first democratically elected president after 1989, died on August 5, 2025, at the age of 95, having served three terms in office.
