Monza promotes to Serie A after the playoff with Catanzaro, finished 2-0 in the first leg and 0-2 in the return.

Monza, a club from Lombardy, returns to Serie A a year after relegation, following the promotion playoff against Catanzaro, held on Friday. Although they lost the return leg 0-2 at home, Monza had won the first leg 2-0 away, thus securing their promotion due to their third-place position in the second division championship, compared to Catanzaro, which finished in fifth place.

This promotion was automatic, without the need for extra time or penalty shootouts. Monza, controlled by an American investor and the Berlusconi family, will play in its fourth season in Serie A, joining teams Venezia and Frosinone, while Cremonese, Verona, and Pisa have been relegated.
