Milos Raonic, one of the most important tennis players in Canada's history, officially announced his retirement from professional sports at the age of 35.

"The time has come, I am retiring from tennis. It is a moment you know will come one day, but you never feel fully prepared for it. This is the best preparation I will ever have. Tennis has been my love and obsession for most of my life.

I have been the luckiest person to live and fulfill my dreams. What comes next? I will not decrease in intensity. I have a lot of life left to live and I am as motivated and eager as I was in 2011 when I entered the circuit. I will put in the same effort and invest the same intensity into my next goal. I will try to achieve the same excellence as in tennis, to strive for perfection day by day and wait to see where destiny will take me," wrote Milos Raonic on Monday, January 12, in a statement he posted on platform X.
