Olympic silver medalist Mihaela Cambei excelled at the World Weightlifting Championships in Forde, Norway, winning a gold medal in the snatch (94 kg) and two silver medals in the clean and jerk (114 kg) and total (208 kg). North Korean weightlifter Hyon-gyong Kang won gold in the clean and jerk and total. Romania is participating with four athletes, and the competition gathers over 500 athletes from 93 countries, being the first international test for the new Olympic cycle.
