At just 18 years old, Lamine Yamal has been named as Barcelona's number 10, taking over from Ansu Fati, who was on loan at AS Monaco. Barcelona marked the moment with a special event, also announcing Yamal's contract extension until 2031. The young footballer said it was his dream to play with the number, inspired by legends such as Lionel Messi, who wore the jersey from 2008 until 2021. Yamal stresses that his focus is on football, regardless of criticism or praise.
