The match was one of high intensity, with a final score of 6-7(5), 7-6(2), 6-4, lasting three hours and 12 minutes. Following this defeat, Cristian will receive a check for $25,515 and 35 points in the WTA singles ranking.
Pliskova, having a solid run, will face Laura Siegemund in the next round at Foro Italico.
