Tottenham and England midfielder James Maddison will undergo surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament, an injury sustained during a friendly against Newcastle. The London club have announced that recovery could take between six and 12 months, which could mean Maddison will miss much of the 2025-2026 season. Tottenham have said they will support the footballer in the recovery process, which will begin immediately after surgery. This is the second serious injury for Maddison in less than a year.
