Iran will hold its training camp in the border city of Tijuana, Mexico, during the World Cup, after FIFA approved the request to move from Arizona, announced the president of the Iranian football federation, Mehdi Taj. This move will help avoid complications related to visas, allowing the team to travel directly to Mexico with Iran Air flights.
Taj mentioned that the distance between Tijuana and the match venues in Los Angeles is only 55 minutes by plane, making Tijuana a more convenient option than the initially planned training camp.
Iran will play its first two matches in Group G in Los Angeles, and Iranian officials have expressed concerns about obtaining U.S. visas, considering that the tournament will start on June 11. Taj has requested guarantees from FIFA regarding visas and the security of the Iranian delegation.
