The African Football Confederation announced that Achraf Hakimi, Mohamed Salah, and Victor Osimhen are the three finalists for the Player of the Year title. Hakimi, the captain of the Moroccan team, had a remarkable season, winning the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain and other trophies.

Mohamed Salah was essential for Liverpool, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists, winning the Premier League top scorer title and the PFA award.

Victor Osimhen led Galatasaray to the league-cup double in Turkey, being the league's top scorer with 26 goals. The CAF awards ceremony will take place on November 19 in Rabat, where other categories will also be awarded, including Club Player of the Year and Best Goalkeeper.
