Karen Haceanov and Ben Shelton qualified for the final of the Masters 1000 in Toronto after beating Zverev and Fritz in the semi-finals.

Russia's Karen Haceanov defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in the semi-finals and American Ben Shelton beat compatriot Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-3. Shelton, 22, becomes the youngest American to reach the final of a Masters 1000 since 2004, having previously beaten Haceanov at Indian Wells. This is Shelton's first Masters 1000 final.
