Gheorghe Popescu considers Gheorghe Hagi perfect for the position of head coach of the national football team

Gheorghe Popescu, former Romanian international, stated that Gheorghe Hagi is the ideal choice for the position of head coach of the national football team. In a post on Facebook, Popescu emphasized Hagi's desire to coach the national team and his merits in this regard, expressing his confidence that Hagi will continue to proudly represent Romania.

Hagi, at the age of 61, was appointed head coach of the national team, almost two weeks after the death of Mircea Lucescu. The new head coach stated that he aims to discover future players for the team, similar to his predecessor. Hagi's contract is valid for four years, and Popescu encouraged supporters to be patient and to believe in the team.
