George Russell (Mercedes) won the Sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, followed by Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Starting from pole position, Russell maintained his lead after the start and was involved in several spectacular duels with Hamilton, before pulling away in the end and winning the 19-lap race.
A decisive moment came on lap 13, when Valtteri Bottas's retirement brought out the Safety Car and changed the teams' strategies. After the race resumed, Russell controlled the finish and crossed the line first, followed 0.7 seconds later by Leclerc and Hamilton. In the overall drivers' standings, Russell leads with 33 points, while Mercedes is leading in the constructors' championship.
