World Cup 2026 | France and Norway advance from the group stage. Mbappe and Haaland, following in Messi's footsteps!

The French national team, the reigning world vice-champion, qualified for the Round of 16 at the World Cup after defeating the Iraqi team 3-0 in a match played in Group I in Philadelphia. Kylian Mbappe, playing his 100th match for France, scored in the 14th and 54th minutes, while Dembele scored in the 66th minute.

With this achievement, the 27-year-old forward made a notable "double", providing a response to Lionel Messi.

The Norwegian national team qualified for the Round of 16 of the World Cup after defeating the Senegal team 3-2 on Tuesday morning in New Jersey. Pedersen (43) and Erling Haaland (48, 58) scored for Norway. The goals for Senegal were scored by Sarr (53 and 90+3).

With six points each, France and Norway are qualified for the Round of 16. 

In the last round of the group, on June 26 at 10:00 PM, the matches Norway - France and Senegal - Iraq will take place. 

In the top scorers' ranking, Lionel Messi leads with 5 goals, followed by Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé, both forwards having scored 4 goals each after the first matches.
