Former NBA basketball player Gilbert Arenas has been arrested following federal charges in the US of organizing illegal gambling at his California mansion.

Gilbert Arenas, 43, has been charged with operating an illegal gambling business, mainly high-stakes poker games organized at his mansion in Encino, California. Arenas and the other defendants were arrested on Wednesday, including 49-year-old Yevgeni Gershman, said to be a suspicious figure in Israel's organized crime world. According to the charges, the illegal gambling business was operated between September 2021 and July 2022.
