A man who posed as a player for the San Francisco 49ers deceived over 20 women with false investments.

Daejon Love, 35 years old, and his alleged accomplice, Taylor Jamie Chan, 18 years old, were arrested on August 24 in Boise, Idaho, accused of conspiracy to commit electronic fraud. According to the U.S. Attorney General's Office, the fraudulent scheme began in February 2022 and lasted over four years.

Daejon Love allegedly created fake identities on dating apps, claiming to be a player for the San Francisco 49ers, using photos with official gear and luxury cars to build his credibility. Authorities claim that Love and Chan defrauded 26 victims from California, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, promising fictitious investment opportunities.

The victims did not receive profits from the investments made and did not recover their money. Love would cut off contact with the victims after they ran out of funds or asked questions. Thus, obtaining approximately 1.3 million lei. The investigation continues, and the actual number of victims may be higher.
