British tennis player Emma Răducanu recorded a convincing victory over compatriot Mingge Xu in the first round of Wimbledon, 6-3, 6-3 in 85 minutes. Răducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, will play Czech Marketa Vondrousova in the next round. Naomi Osaka also made a successful Wimbledon debut, defeating Talia Gibson. The tournament offers total prize money of 53.5 million pounds.
