Egypt has filed an official complaint with FIFA, dissatisfied with the officiating of French referee François Letexier in the match lost on Tuesday against Argentina (2-3) in the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
The Egyptian Federation is calling for an investigation, citing controversial decisions, including the annulment of a goal scored by Mostafa Ziko and a foul on Mohamed Salah that was not reviewed by VAR. These incidents have generated anger within the Egyptian team, and coach Hossam Hassan stated that the match was unfair, suggesting that the outcome could have been influenced by external interests.
Forward Zico claimed that the officiating was biased, and the federation's management has requested the suspension of Letexier and his assistants for the remainder of the competition, believing that their errors decided the fate of the match.
