The CSM Bucharest team suffered a defeat on Saturday in the semifinals of the F4 Tournament in Budapest, being defeated by Metz Handball with a score of 32-27 (17-13), thus missing the chance to play in the Champions League final. CSM Bucharest will compete for the bronze medal, facing the loser of the second semifinal, between Gyor ETO and Brest Bretagne Handball.
In the match against Metz, the top scorers for CSM were Maslova with 7 goals, Ostergaard with 4, and Omoregie with 3, while Metz was led by Boutktit with 8 goals and Valentini with 7. CSM Bucharest qualified for the F4 Tournament after eliminating the Danish team Team Esbjerg in the quarterfinals. It is worth mentioning that CSM Bucharest, the trophy winner in 2016, has not reached the F4 Tournament since 2018, when they won the bronze medal. The final for the bronze medal will take place on Sunday at 16:00.
