Ana Bărbosu, at the age of 19, is facing new problems in her career as a professional gymnast, after allegedly not responding to the calls of anti-doping officials during the NCAA National Gymnastics Championships in the USA, where she competed for Stanford University.
This situation could lead to her suspension from activity, which would be a shock for Romanian gymnastics. Recently, Ana was involved in a controversy regarding the bronze medal she won at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which was initially awarded to her but then contested. The Swiss Federal Court decided to strip her of the medal again, favoring American Jordan Chiles. Mihai Covaliu, the president of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, avoided commenting on the situation, emphasizing that investigations are ongoing.
