The Gresini team has confirmed that Spanish rider Alex Marquez will miss the next two Grand Prix races, at Mugello and Balaton, to continue his recovery after the serious accident during the Catalonia Grand Prix. Marquez suffered a fracture of the right collarbone and a severe blow to the C7 vertebra, which requires complete rest for five weeks, according to doctors' recommendations. Although the regulations require the designation of a replacement, the team has not provided details on this aspect. Specialists suggest that Michele Pirro, the Ducati test rider, could be chosen as a replacement, considering his previous experience. The accident occurred following a collision with Pedro Acosta's KTM, which had a technical problem. Marquez's recovery will be monitored through additional tests to assess the condition of the affected vertebra.
