Ukraine has decided to freeze part of the assets of Victor Gușan, co-founder of the 'Sheriff' holding, which controls the economy of the breakaway region of Transnistria. This measure was taken following an investigation that established that companies affiliated with Gușan had supplied goods and services for Russia's military-industrial complex. A Ukrainian court confirmed that structures close to Gușan were involved in Russian military production, particularly through the Moldavizolit factory in Transnistria, which played a significant role in supplying materials for Russia's defense industry.

The investigation also revealed how intermediary companies were created in Russia, linking them directly to the Sheriff holding, which holds a monopoly in various fields in Transnistria, including trade, oil, telecommunications, and media. Gușan's wealth is estimated at 2 billion dollars. Additionally, Ukraine recently imposed coordinated sanctions with the United States against several Russian companies, including Rosneft and Lukoil. Gușan was previously involved in real estate acquisitions in Ukraine and held Ukrainian citizenship. The asset freeze measures remain in effect during the investigation.
