EU reaffirms support for Moldova's sovereignty and accession process, welcoming progress in reducing energy dependence on Russia

Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot said in Chisinau that Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable, stressing the importance of separating the EU accession process from the Transnistrian conflict. He praised Moldova's progress in reducing its energy dependence on Russia and underlined the country's determination to move towards European integration. Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi confirmed the continued support of the Benelux states for Moldova's EU accession, citing progress in democratic reforms and security cooperation.
