TAROM has launched a promotional ticket campaign with prices starting from 119 euros for round-trip travelers, available between January 30 and February 2, 2026. Travel must be completed between March 15 and June 30, 2026, and destinations include cities such as Athens, Amsterdam, Paris, Cairo, and Beirut. The minimum stay is two days, and the maximum is 14 days. In parallel, TAROM, controlled by the Ministry of Transport, has appointed a new interim CEO, Bogdan Costaș, starting January 15, 2026. The company reported a gross profit of 292.2 million lei in 2024, but is facing a liquidity deficit. TAROM has requested a new tranche of restructuring aid from the Government, approved by the European Commission, to avoid financial destabilization. The Government will allocate 114,068 thousand lei from the budget reserve fund to support the restructuring process and ensure the continuity of the restructuring plan agreed with the EC.
