The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved the initiation of negotiations for the conclusion of a Social Security Agreement with the province of Quebec in Canada, which will allow Moldovan citizens to benefit from old-age pensions, disability pensions, and social benefits in case of an accident at work. The agreement will allow the aggregation of work periods from Moldova and Quebec, and the pensions will be paid monthly and transferred to the residence state of the beneficiaries, either in Moldova or in Quebec. Although the Republic of Moldova has a social security agreement with Canada, Quebec has its own system, which is why a distinct agreement is necessary.
