A mural dedicated to the Moldovan hora has been unveiled in Aielli, a town in Italy’s Abruzzo region known for its numerous urban art projects. The work was created by Moldovan artist Radu Dumbravă and is a cultural initiative aimed at promoting the traditions and identity of the Republic of Moldova in Italy.
Representatives of the local authorities, members of the Italian community and Moldovan citizens living in the region attended the event, according to a statement from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Italy. The central message of the work concerns the hora’s role as a symbol of community, closeness between people and the joy of being together.
The project also included a presentation of elements of Moldovan gastronomic and winemaking traditions. The Embassy said that, although modest in size, the work carries an important message: culture can bring people closer and create ties between communities.
The mural is part of the artistic landscape of the Borgo Universo area, where more than 60 urban art works are displayed, including murals, sculptures and installations by Italian and international artists. From now on, visitors to Aielli can also discover a representation of Moldova through the hora.
