Moldova Elections: Voting has ended. Moldovan citizens voted to choose between the European Union and Russian control, with a turnout of over 1.5 million at the polls.

On Sunday, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova were called to a historic vote, having to choose between integration into the European Union and returning under the influence of Russia. Over 1,585,168 Moldovans participated, including from the diaspora, where there were long queues at polling stations. The Central Electoral Commission ensured a fair process, despite some attempts at fraud reported by President Maia Sandu. Additionally, special forces intervened to prevent violence from some members of the secret services from Transnistria.
