According to the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA), an investigation has been opened regarding possible electoral corruption in the context of the parliamentary elections of 2025. The investigated group includes mayors, district and local councilors, as well as individuals from outside the public sector, suspected of having created a mechanism to influence voters.
They allegedly recruited supporters, promising them money, goods, and services to persuade them to vote in a certain way or to support certain political parties. Investigators claim that these actions were financed from sources prohibited by law, not being reflected in the financial reports of the parties.
Additionally, electoral corruption acts are also being investigated, including the offering of material benefits to voters. Following the searches, relevant documents and evidence were seized, and 26 individuals are being investigated while at liberty.
