On Thursday morning, a bomb alert was announced at the Eugen Doga International Airport in Chișinău at 04:15, which led to the evacuation of passengers and employees, as well as the temporary suspension of check-in procedures.
Authorities restricted access to the airport during the checks carried out by specialized teams. Passengers were advised to check the flight status on the airport's online board, as the schedule of some flights was disrupted. The checks lasted almost three hours, and at 07:30, the alarm was confirmed to be false.
The airport's operations resumed normally, and passengers were informed to continue checking the flight status. The incident is not isolated, as the airport has had similar alerts in the past, all of which turned out to be false, including an alert from April.
