Vlad Voiculescu, leader of USR Bucharest and former Minister of Health, criticized the blocking of positions in hospitals, addressing especially Alexandru Rogobete from PSD, former Secretary of State.
Voiculescu emphasized that, during the period when the ministry was led by Alexandru Rafila, nearly 4,000 positions were recognized as vacant and required urgent unblocking. He mentioned that, currently, 7,621 positions are proposed for unblocking, including for doctors and auxiliary staff. Voiculescu accused Rogobete of inaction during the personnel crisis and called for the unblocking of positions, stressing that Romania cannot afford to lose staff from hospitals. He warned that blocking positions will worsen the situation in the healthcare system and will drive patients towards private hospitals.
Recently, the Government approved the unblocking of 22 vacant positions at the Marie Curie Children's Hospital, but Voiculescu believes that broader measures are needed.
