Vlad Oprea, the mayor of the city of Sinaia, announced on Facebook that he is returning to the City Hall after being suspended and having been in preventive detention in a corruption case. He was accused of serious offenses, including bribery, influence peddling, and false statements in asset declarations. Oprea emphasized that the city needs people who work and thanked his supporters for understanding the importance of continuing projects for the community. Following the accusations, he was prohibited from exercising the function of mayor, but now he returns with the desire to carry on the initiatives he started. His arrest was motivated by suspicions that he attempted to influence decisions in the city hall during the period when he could not exercise the function.
