Victor Ponta commented the appointment of Adrian Veștea as prime minister by president Nicușor Dan, emphasizing that in Romania it seems that roulette is being played, in contrast to the chess game until now.
„Until now it seemed that in Romania chess was being played. Since this morning, it seems that roulette is being played. For the "players" it is exciting. But for the spectators, this "game" is becoming increasingly expensive!"
PS - On the night when president Nicușor Dan changed all the "pieces", prime minister Ilie Bolojan was in Chișinău, alongside Mrs. Maia Sandu (a friend of Nicușor Dan)!
This is how history is written!" Victor Ponta conveyed in a message posted on Facebook.
Adrian Veștea, originally from Râșnov and a former mayor, was appointed prime minister on June 14, 2026. In his first statements, Veștea emphasized the desire to form a political government that will implement real reforms and keep Romania on the pro-Western path. He highlighted the importance of development and national priorities, such as completing projects from the PNRR and strengthening security. Veștea also proposes to serve the Romanians with loyalty and responsibility, considering his 30 years of political experience.
