Dozens of MEPs racked up 190 unjustified absences in the first session of their mandate, with Victor Ponta having the most.

In the first session of the current term, dozens of MEPs were absent without reason, totaling 190 absences. Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta tops the list with the most absentees, followed by MEPs like Alexandru Popa (PNL) and Silviu-Florin Oancea (AUR). The absences were recorded despite the possibility of online participation. Each absence can result in the withholding of part of an MEP's monthly allowance.
