According to a BBC investigation, the UAE hired American mercenaries to carry out targeted assassinations and train local assassins, mainly members of Islah, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The UAE has denied the allegations, but the investigation has produced strong evidence, including testimonies from former military personnel involved.
