Nicușor Dan believes that the reform of special pensions, promoted by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, will be sent to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), according to sources from the Presidential Administration, quoted by Mediafax.

The High Court of Cassation and Justice has requested the CCR to refer to the CJEU regarding the status of magistrates. Following this, the CCR has postponed for the fifth time the decision, scheduling the next meeting for February 18, 2026.

Meanwhile, the referendum announced by President Nicușor Dan for the reform of justice could still take place, with the cited sources mentioning two possible options for its conduct: by mail-in voting or online voting. The same sources mention that judges opposing the referendum have not presented the arguments requested by the president to highlight the issues in justice.
