Government sources announced that the government led by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will adopt two emergency ordinances to freeze the minimum wage in 2026. These normative acts are expected to be adopted by the end of the year, and a discussion on this topic will take place within the National Tripartite Council for Social Dialogue, scheduled for December 10. Prime Minister Bolojan emphasized that there is no room for increasing the minimum wage due to economic and budgetary realities.

Additionally, sources mentioned that the state budget for 2026 will be finalized at the earliest by the end of January, and the government is working on administrative reforms and fiscal packages to reduce expenses before the budget is adopted.
