The European Commission has temporarily suspended the payment request number 3 from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), asking for clarifications and corrections to the legislative framework regarding special pensions. The government intends to quickly adopt the necessary amendments by assuming responsibility, but must first obtain the opinion of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), which has already criticized the proposals. The amendment project stipulates that the service pension will not exceed 70% of the net income of the magistrate in the last month of activity. It also establishes precise conditions for the retirement of judges and prosecutors, including a minimum seniority of 35 years, with at least 25 years in specific functions. The Ministry of Labor emphasizes that these amendments are essential for unlocking funds from the PNRR, referring to the milestone regarding the reduction of expenses on special pensions. The project also introduces new regulations for early retirement based on seniority, with penalties for missing years.
