Ionuț Moșteanu, the Minister of Defense, declared that Romania will soon have a new air defense system, aimed at improving the protection of airspace and the response capacity to threats generated by drones. The announcement was made after a meeting with American General Christopher Donahue at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, in the context of a recent incident in which a drone was detected in the Tulcea-Galați area and fell in Vaslui County, without carrying an explosive payload.
Moșteanu emphasized the importance of relations with allies, especially with the United States, for strengthening Romania's security, especially in the face of challenges from Russia. He thanked American allies for their cooperation and reaffirmed Romania's commitment to strengthening the defense of the Eastern Flank.
