The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania summoned, on November 14, 2025, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, Vladimir Lipaev, presenting him with clear evidence of the violation of Romanian airspace by a Russian drone on the night of November 10 to 11. Romanian authorities recovered fragments of the aerial vehicle, which demonstrate its involvement in attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. Romania expressed a strong protest against this act, highlighting the risks to the safety of citizens and the region.
Additionally, the MFA reminded the responsibility of the Russian Federation for the aggression against Ukraine and asserted Romania's right to take legal measures to protect its territory. Despite the incident, citizens in the affected area were not in direct danger. Romania is collaborating with allies to manage risk situations, and a Ro-Alert message was issued to inform residents of Tulcea County about possible falling objects from the sky.
