The Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, and the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, met on Thursday at the MApN headquarters with the Chairman of NATO's Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, during the allied official's visit to Romania, with whom they discussed, among other things, the importance of increasing defense investments to 5% of GDP.
During the talks, they also discussed Romania's contribution to Euro-Atlantic security, the participation of Romanian soldiers in NATO missions and operations, as well as the multidimensional support provided to Ukraine.
"Romania is fully committed to advancing efforts dedicated to ensuring security and stability in the Black Sea region, in the Allied context, considering the need for a coherent approach to all measures adopted on NATO's Eastern Flank, with an emphasis on support regarding capabilities to combat drones that penetrate national airspace," emphasized the interim Minister of National Defense.
