Oana Ţoiu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has sent an official invitation on behalf of President Nicușor Dan to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to make a visit to Romania next year.

During her visit to Ankara, Tăoiu emphasized the importance of Turkey as Romania's main trading partner outside the European Union and appreciated its support for Romania's accession to the OECD, aiming to finalize the process by early 2026. The Minister highlighted the strong human ties between the two nations and stressed the need to intensify cooperation in the field of security, both within NATO and at the regional level, to protect the security of the Black Sea. Additionally, Tăoiu participated in a debate on the development of Romanian-Turkish relations, addressing topics such as cooperation in energy, transport, and maritime security. This visit underscores Romania's commitment to strengthening relations with Turkey and promoting stability in the region.
