The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, commented on the critical attitude of the PSD towards the current government, emphasizing that Romania cannot be led by only considering the internal interests of a party. In an interview with Euronews Romania, Miruță stated that there is a part of Romania that is not represented by the PSD and is waiting for results from the governing coalition. He mentioned that, in the context of global challenges, the internal discussions of the PSD do not reflect the reality of the country. Miruță highlighted the importance of stability for Romania and emphasized that decisions in the coalition are made unanimously, including by the PSD leaders. He also warned that political instability is not a viable option for the country, questioning what would happen if the prime minister were to resign.
"I do not allow myself to give advice to Mr. President Grindeanu on how to lead the Social Democratic Party. But neither can he claim that the only issues in Romania are those within the PSD. There is still a part of Romania that is not within the PSD. And it has expectations from a coalition to deliver under the given conditions. People are talking these days about nuclear tensions, they are talking about the accelerated rise in oil prices, they are talking about new alliances, perhaps at a global level, and Romania seems disconnected from the world if the only discussions are about the PSD's exit or non-exit from government," said Minister of Defense Radu Miruță.
