The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that the party will not give up on the major infrastructure projects in Romania, after a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban. Grindeanu emphasizes that 2026 could be a record year for the number of kilometers of highways and express roads put into circulation, estimating that 250 km could be reached or exceeded.

He highlighted the importance of continuing efficient work at the Ministry of Transport and at CNAIR, as well as the necessity of ensuring funding to maintain the pace of investments. Grindeanu requested that the State Budget for 2026 allocate sufficient amounts for infrastructure development, considering that this is essential for the economic relaunch of Romania.

Additionally, he asked the Minister of Transport to ensure that payments are made consistently to allow the opening of traffic on the approximately 250 km of high-speed roads forecasted by the end of the year.
