The leader of the PSD senators, Daniel Zamfir, announced the adoption of a bill that allows the completion of hydroenergy projects started before 2007 without needing an environmental permit. These projects, considered to be of national security, will be able to be carried out in an emergency regime, despite opposition from the Ministry of the Environment and NGOs. Zamfir criticized the Minister of the Environment for the delay in approving the hydropower plants. Additionally, a law was adopted that supports prosumers, allowing for the quantitative compensation of the electricity produced by them. Prosumers will only pay the difference between the energy consumed and the energy produced, and the surplus energy can be transferred to other consumers who have the same supplier. The law introduces measures for the flexibility of consumption and the valorization of surplus energy, benefiting approximately 250,000 prosumers in Romania.
