PNL has officially announced that the meeting of the Joint Permanent Bureaus of the Parliament Chambers has been suspended at the request of the party, justifying the "abusive presence" of the party's name on the "list of government members proposed by Adrian Veștea.
According to the liberals, the meeting has been suspended at the request of PNL members, due to "a flaw that may lead to the unconstitutionality of the government investment procedure."
"The inclusion in the name of the designated prime minister of the name 'PNL' as a political affiliation is false, abusive, and severely affects the political composition of the Government. We remind that PNL has decided not to participate in any government together with PSD and has not nominated any party member to be part of the government proposed by the designated prime minister Adrian Veștea. We have thus noted that, by submitting the list of the government in the presented form, at least two decisions of the CCR are violated: Decision no. 85/2018 and CCR Decision no. 67/2021," shows the PNL statement.
In order for the proposed government members' list to be constitutional, the liberals led by Ilie Bolojan argue that the name 'PNL' must be excluded from this list.
The BPR meeting was to be resumed and, according to sources cited by the press in Romania, it is intended for the hearings of the ministers to take place between 12 and 21:00, and the joint plenary for debates and the vote of investment to start at 21:30.
