Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu launched severe criticism regarding the management of state-owned companies, highlighting significant losses and superficial reforms. In a Facebook post, she stated that every wasted leu in these companies affects the budget for hospitals, schools, and pensions. Gheorghiu emphasized that public assets belong to citizens, not political interests. Analyzing four restructuring plans approved by the Authority for the Administration of State Assets (AAAS), she noted alarming similarities between documents, which do not take into account the specifics of each company.
The Deputy Prime Minister criticized the passivity of the AAAS and provided examples of companies facing financial difficulties, such as Radioactiv Mineral Măgurele, which records significant losses, yet the restructuring plans foresee unrealistic profits. Gheorghiu highlighted that rental income is used to pay management instead of being reinvested in the companies. She called for concrete measures to improve the situation of state-owned companies and protect public assets.
