The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, reacted to the accusations of AUR leader, George Simion, who claimed that Nicușor Dan violated the Constitution and threatened with a possible suspension. In a public statement, Nicușor Dan emphasized that suspension is not a serious measure and that Romania needs leadership from pro-Western forces. This position reflects his commitment to democratic values and European integration, highlighting the importance of political stability in the current context. Nicușor Dan reaffirmed that Romania's priorities must be oriented towards the development of international relations and strengthening strategic partnerships.
"The Constitution of Romania speaks about the pro-Western direction of the country. I have acted in this direction and will continue to act for Romania to be governed by pro-Western forces. I do not believe that suspension is a serious matter in this context. It is an extremely rigorous mechanism through which Parliament and citizens can penalize a president who violates the Fundamental Law, but we are not in that situation," said Nicușor Dan.
