President Nicușor Dan announced on Saturday that he has signed the resignations of the social-democrat ministers and proposed interim appointments to fill the vacant positions. This decision came after the PSD ministers withdrew from the Government, not participating in the Executive meeting. Dan emphasized that he will continue his role as a mediator in the current political context, convening a meeting for Monday with the leaders of pro-European parties. The discussions will address Romania's strategic projects, including the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and the SAFE program.
Among the proposed interim ministers are Dragoș Pîslaru at the Ministry of Labor and Cătălin Predoiu at the Ministry of Justice. Additionally, the responsibilities of Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu will be taken over by Oana Gheorghiu, who will coordinate companies under different authorities. This restructuring comes at a time of significant political changes in Romania.
