President Nicușor Dan will receive on Monday, October 5, at Cotroceni Palace, the OMV delegation led by the company’s new chief executive officer, Emma Delaney. The meeting begins at 10:00 and takes place in a difficult context for the energy sector, marked by rising fuel prices, which have exceeded 10 lei per liter at most gas stations.
The discussions will focus on Romania’s energy future and the Neptun Deep project, with gas extraction from the Black Sea set to begin in the first half of 2027. OMV Petrom and Romgaz each own 50% of the project. Emma Delaney took over as head of OMV on September 1, 2026, and is the first woman to hold this position in the company’s history.
Starting at 14:00, Nicușor Dan will begin consultations with the parliamentary parties to appoint a new prime minister. The discussions will end after 19:00, and the president is expected to announce a new nomination, five months after the Bolojan Government was dismissed by a no-confidence motion.
