President Nicușor Dan was informed about the submission of the PSD-AUR censure motion through a blue note while he was in discussions at Cotroceni with political leaders, including Sorin Grindeanu, Ilie Bolojan, Kelemen Hunor, and Dominic Fritz. The negotiations began at 10 AM, and the announcement of the motion was made by the leaders of PSD and AUR 15 minutes after the discussions started.

A counselor later entered the negotiation room and handed Nicușor Dan the note with the information. Dominic Fritz mentioned that Grindeanu did not communicate the decision to submit the motion during the meeting, and the participants did not learn about it until after leaving the room, as they did not have their phones with them.
